We see an overall decline in parent participation in their child's education from K-12. This happens form many reasons, however, when parents are involved with their child's education it sends positive ripple effects from within the child out, then into the classroom. Wnen multiple students in the classroom have active parents, it is easier for educators to establish a positive learning culture witnin the classroom and the building.
As many of us are taking time to recover for the summer, we encourage you educators to reflect on the opportunities you had positive parent support and the times support was lacking.
When a moment of calm draws you to think about your classroom visualize a small change you can make to bring parents back into their child's educational journey. Your quick thought can create a trend others can follow to keep our families engaged.
